If you are visiting, I assume you have a dog, are thinking about getting a dog, or know someone who has a dog, and would like to know more about how to train that dog to be a wonderful family member. Or maybe your dog has some social issues that you don't know how to correct. Or behavioral issues, that you want to eliminate. Whatever the reason, learning how to train your dog will not only help your dog learn what is expected of him, but it will also strengthen the bond between you. Is it ever too late? Absolutely not!
The benefit of working with a certified professional dog trainer allows you to work one on one with an expert who can assess your individual needs, the needs of your family, as well as the needs of your dog, while taking into consideration the personalities involved. The training progresses at the speed comfortable for you and your dog. It is never too early or too late to begin. Dogs are amazing creatures, and have a thirst for knowledge, a desire to spend time with you, and an uncanny ability to make life fun. My methods of positive reinforcement training keep the fun in training and the sparkle in your dog's eyes while you learn to train your dog and your dog learns.
With the understanding that lives are busy, I offer both day and evening appointments in your home, Monday through Thursday, as well as daytime appointments on Friday. This allows me to assess the home environment and daily routine, enabling me to make any necessary adjustments, creating quicker results and a comfortable improvement for all. The neighborhoods I service are listed at both the top and bottom of the page.
I also offer semi-private instruction to those who have a friend with a dog needing the same education at a similar level, thus allowing you to share the expense and still gain the benefits of private assistance.
Group Classes are held on Sunday mornings at Save A Pet Animal Rescue in Port Jefferson, from late Spring through early fall, when 6 or more families enroll.
My private rates are reasonable, $55 for a one hour lesson. I don't believe in the pressure sale of a package. I want you to continue to allow me to work with you and your dog because you want to, not because I emptied your wallet. Clients who require numerous visits are offered a $10 discount on each lesson when they pre-book and prepay the following appointment, bringing the fee to $45. This lesson, however, is written in stone, and cancellation would result in a forfeiture of the fee.
